If you have ever opened a technician's roller cabinet and seen every spanner, socket and plier sitting in its own labelled recess, there is a fair chance you were looking at Teng Tools. The Swedish brand has built its whole identity around one idea: tools live in trays, and trays live in drawers.
Where the system comes from
The Teng Tools story began in 1985, when founder Henri Tengvall saw mechanics' need for a well-selected range of hand tools and storage solutions. The company is Swedish, designs its ranges in Sweden, and today sells in more than 30 markets worldwide. Even the name has a story: it combines Tengvall's surname with Tengu, the Japanese mythical creature whose distinctive face crowns the logo.
What Get Organised actually means
Teng calls its storage concept Get Organised. In the company's own words, it consists of stationary, mobile and portable storage solutions that, in combination with hundreds of tool kits, create a modular, scalable system for hand tools. The practical version: almost every Teng tool set is delivered in a system tray with a clear location for each individual tool. Trays click together, sit flat in the drawer, and can be lifted out and transferred between different storage units. Buy the cabinet first or buy the tools first - the system meets in the middle.
TT trays vs Foam trays
Teng makes two families of tray. The TT series is the space-saving option, packing tools tightly so more sets fit in each drawer. The Foam series is the premium-feel option: tools sit in dense two-tone foam, so an empty recess is visible at a glance - the classic tool-control benefit for anyone who needs to know a tool has not been left inside a machine or on a job. Both families follow the same drawer grid, so they can be mixed in one cabinet.
Planning a cabinet drawer by drawer
A little planning goes a long way with a tray system:
- Put the sets you reach for daily in the top drawers, at the front.
- Keep heavy items - large sockets, breaker bars - in the lower drawers.
- Group by job, not by tool type, if you always use the same combination together.
- Leave a drawer's worth of space for the sets you will inevitably add later.

Teng Tools backs its tools with a lifetime guarantee against material and manufacturing defects during the normal lifetime of the product, with tool storage covered on registration. The usual exclusions apply - accidents, unapproved modifications, misuse, normal wear and lack of proper care - and claims go through the retailer with your receipt.
