Who are Laser Tools?
Laser Tools is one of five brands of The Tool Connection, a UK tool company based in Southam, Warwickshire. The company designs and manufactures specialist tools in Sheffield, working closely with vehicle manufacturers, and exports to over 60 countries. Its other brands are Kamasa, Gunson, Power-TEC and Connect Workshop Consumables.
Can I buy directly from Laser Tools?
No — The Tool Connection sells through stockists rather than direct to the public. Its own advice is to browse the range and then buy from one of its partners, which is exactly what Town Tools is.
Where do I find the specifications and spare parts?
Laser publish a product information sheet (PIS) for every part number, and this builder links the sheet for each cabinet and each foam inlay in its Full details popup — that sheet is where the drawer sizes and tray dimensions used here come from. For spare parts, The Tool Connection ask customers to contact their sales team on 01926 815000, as the spares search on their new website is not live yet.
Warranty
What warranty do Laser Tools products carry?
The Tool Connection warranty covers their products for 12 months from the purchase date, against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Consumable and wear parts are excluded — driver bits, bit sockets, ratchet knuckles, twist drills, chisels, punches, extractors, knives, blades, scrapers, taps and dies — as are torque-tool recalibration and batteries. Cordless power tools registered within 30 days of purchase get a further 2 years, 3 in total. Claims need dated proof of purchase and go to their Service Department.

How does the builder know what fits?
It holds the real drawer sizes Laser publish for every cabinet, and the real tray size for every set. There are two families: the six insulated foam inlays are all 563 x 409 x 37mm and fill a whole drawer, while the EVA tool-set trays are smaller (from 99 x 180mm up to 230 x 465mm), so several of those share one drawer. The builder packs each drawer in real millimetres, turns a tray sideways where that is the only way it goes in, and refuses any tray taller than the drawer is deep. Laser publish a 400mm drawer depth for the 5083 and 8248 while also stating the 409mm inlay fits them, so a 12mm tolerance is allowed on that figure.
Why will some trays not go in a particular drawer?
Either the footprint or the depth. A tray has to fit the drawer's width and front-to-back measurement one way round or the other, and it cannot be thicker than the drawer is deep - the 5083's top drawer is 35mm, for instance, so a 37mm tray is turned down and the builder tells you why. Where a tray does not fit any drawer in the cabinet you have picked, it is greyed out with the reason in millimetres.
Does the 5082 top chest take trays?
Yes, but not the big insulated inlays. Its drawers are 540mm wide by 265mm front to back, so the 563 x 409mm inlay will not go in - the smaller EVA tool-set trays do, including in the three narrow 160mm drawers. Note its drawers are only 35mm deep apart from the bottom one, so any tray thicker than that is turned down. Laser also state the 5082 sits on top of the 5083 roller cabinet, so it is offered as an add-on there too.
