Details

The Hultafors Hults Bruk Åby Forest Axe is a beautiful hybrid with many types of use. Perfect for shelter building, processing firewood and carving, as well as precision work. The long, thin ergonomic handle minimises the weight but also delivers a great force when striking. Made from American hickory and treated with linseed oil for increased durability.

Hand forged from Swedish quality steel, the head is struck 40–60 times to increase density and durability. It has a straighter edge and grinding, slight convex grind and a good finger notch below the head for increased precision. The axe is supplied sharpened, polished and ready to use, in a leather axe sheath.

The Åby is named after the nearest village from Hults Bruk, where many of the workers at the forge lived in the mid 20th century.
